Sail Away to Croatia with Savvy Crew Member David

This might not come as a surprise but many of our crew here at Savvy Navvy love boating. The latest team member to hit the water was David Cusworth, who wrote an article about his first-ever family charter holiday.

David and his family spent a week in sun-soaked Croatia putting Savvy Navvy to the test. ☀️

“This was our first ever family charter holiday and to say we were excited is an understatement. We are all quite experienced sailors, my wife and I have raced and cruised together, we owned a small day sailor in the UK a few years ago, and our kids, 11 and 13, sail every week on a J70 here in Denmark. But, chartering is different.” - David

Find out about their trip below - including how savvy anchorage data saved them €500 in a single week!

Seagrasses Filter Human Pathogens in Marine Waters

An international research team found that coastal urban seagrass ecosystems can greatly reduce human bacterial pathogens.

Published on Aug. 2 in Nature Sustainability, the study highlights seagrass meadows' critical role in their ecosystems. Besides being habitats for marine life and enhancing biodiversity, they also act as natural filters, reducing harmful bacteria in surrounding waters. This is vital given the $12 billion annual economic impact of marine infectious diseases.

Let’s help do our part to protect our beloved seagrass. View conservation and seagrass information in your savvy app to make more informed decisions when dropping your hook.
